The following email received from Brian Esterman, NW '71 says it all:

"Just wanted to take a minute to tell you about the wonderful time Janet and I had last night.  Didn’t  know what to expect but I was anxious to visit the campus since I have not set foot in there since I graduated in 1971.   I was impressed with the school and the updates and maintenance.  We went to the dining room to get our tickets and saw many peoples of all ages in line to get in at 6 when we arrived.  We found a table in front and sat down to begin "Fine Dining!  Lol".   We got about 4 slices and some lemonade (nice touch) and returned to our table and began;  other people came to our table and we all talked about the pizza.   The Hospitality was Fantastic and ALL of the pizzas were fantastic.   I liked the JET pizza but my wife Janet put our 2 tokens in the Malnati’s bin as she is partial because they are in our neighborhood in Lake Forest.

The gentleman that did the announcing (Mark Collins, a director of the D219 Education Foundation) was an excellent choice, we talked with him afterward and were informed that he is and actor, I thought he might be the Principal.   The Niles West Rock Club was a nice touch and the individual girls that performed their songs were very moving.

I stimulated the sales of the raffle tickets when the announcer was pitching the tickets between the bands.  I waved a $10 bill in the air and got others in the room to bring they're $$$ out.   When the raffle tickets were drawn one of ours was picked for the last food certificate envelope.  I handed the ticket to one of the young kids by our table (6th grade) and they got the envelope and brought it to me.  I gave it back to them and said that it was for them.   Smiles on children’s faces: "PRICELESS".  I turned to my right and saw their father standing next to me with his hand out for a shake and a smile on his face: "PRICELESS".  We sat there for a while relaxing after 16 slices of pizza, and realized that his children were standing next to me but did not know what to say.  I just smiled and shook their hands and said “you’re welcome”.  They smiled and left.

Moments like that in life are another PRICELESS.   Janet has already marked our calendar to be looking for PIZZA WARS 3 next year.   Thank you again so much for inviting us, quite an experience."
